About Me

Spouse. Dog Mom. Chronically Ill/Disabled. Bisexual. Pastor. Writer. Educator. Advocate. Forever Student.

Hey y’all! I’m Sara (She/Her), a pastor and mental health educator. I’ve been in ministry for 11+ years in a variety of settings. I have an undergraduate degree in Youth Ministry and in May 2022 received both a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counseling (MAPCC) from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary.

My Why:

Life can get really messy and somehow we’re supposed to make sense of it all, including how God fits into this picture, while juggling ALL the things. My work continues to center around providing age-specific and intergenerational spiritual care.

I have a particular interest in working with young people, believing they need more than programs alone, but to also be pastored in loss, changes, mental health struggles, family issues, identity, and more.

I want to help young people face these realities in a brave space that doesn’t settle for cliches and platitudes, but instead boldly meets each person where they are. I live to resource others, empowering them to use new tools and their own innate gifts to thrive amongst the struggles life brings, deepening their faith along the way.

Professional Experiences Include…

  • Publishing House
  • Hospital Chaplaincy

Other things you may want to know about Sara:

I’m married to my partner Caleb, and we have 1 dog “child”, Mory. When not working, I love to drink decaf coffee, eat donuts, and read children’s books (the only fiction in my life). I live for time with those I love, planning trips to far-off places, baking yummy things, exploring nature, and sifting through antique/thrift stores for treasure. I’ve been known to rant about vegan pizza, tattoos, theology, and the Enneagram.
